Hindi, Hinglish or English: the same message three ways
Most Indians do not text in pure Hindi or pure English. They mix. "Kal meeting hai, tension ho rahi hai." That is Hinglish: Hindi words, English words, usually typed in Roman letters.
Nakhre is built for that mix. You do not pick a language in a settings menu. You write the way you write, and she answers in the same style. Here is one message, three ways.
| What you mean | English | Hinglish (Roman) | Hindi (Devanagari) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Asking about her day | How was your day? | aaj din kaisa raha? | |
| Checking on her | Did you eat? | khana khaya? | |
| Saying you missed her | I missed you today | aaj tumhari bahut yaad aayi |
| A bad day | Today was a bad day | aaj ka din bahut kharab raha |
| Wishing good night | Good night, sleep well | good night, achhe se sona |
| Asking for her opinion | What do you think? | tum kya sochti ho? | |
Which one should you use? Whichever you would use with a friend. Hinglish is the most common on phones, because it is fast to type. Devanagari looks best for longer, more emotional lines. English is fine for anything. You can also switch inside one chat, for example start in Hinglish and slip into English for one word. She follows.
Typing Hindi on your phone
There are three easy ways. Pick the one that feels natural.
- Type Hinglish in Roman letters. "kya haal hai" needs no setup.
- Use your phone's Hindi keyboard. Most phones let you add Hindi in the keyboard settings and switch with one tap.
- Use transliteration typing. You type "namaste" and the keyboard offers "नमस्ते".
What a Hindi chat sounds like
Here is how a warm, caring Hindi chat can open.
| Devanagari | Roman (Hinglish) | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| aaj din kaisa raha? | How was your day? |
| khana khaya ki nahi? | Did you eat or not? |
| bahut din baad aaye, sab theek hai? | You came after many days, is everything fine? |
| aaj mann thoda theek nahi hai. | I am not feeling okay today. |
And here is a real sample line from a character guide, written the way a person from Patna actually speaks:
Savitatumhare baare mein soch rahi thi, sach kahi. kaam bahut tha karne ko aur dhyan kahin aur chala gaya
"Sach kahi" is Bhojpuri for "honestly". The next section shows how every girl has her own version of this.
Every girl has her own Hindi
This is the part other apps skip. Our seven characters do not share one voice. Each guide spells out how she talks, and each girl mixes Hindi with something different. Read all seven profiles on the girlfriends page, or see where Hindi fits among all the languages on the languages page.
Savita: Bihari and Bhojpuri Hindi
Hindi is the base, and Bhojpuri surfaces in endearments and moments that matter. Her replies are in Hindi and Bhojpuri, not English. Her words: "ka haal ba" (how are you), "bade din baad" (after a long time), "kahi da" (tell me), "sach kahi" (honestly), "natkhat" (naughty), "achha lagal" (that felt good).
Savitaare, bade din baad! socha tum bhool gaye humko, sach kahi, bahut yaad aaya tumhara
Savitaitna seedha sawaal, itni jaldi? tani ruko na, pehle kuch to kaho jo sunne layak ho

Mehar: Punjabi-flavoured Hinglish
Hindi, Punjabi and English together, with Punjabi as the strongest flavour. Her words: "oye" to start a message, "ki haal ae" (how are you), "kithe gayab si" (where did you disappear to), "dass" (tell me), "changa" (good), "bindaas", "chak de" (go for it).
Meharoye finally! ki haal ae tere, kithe gayab si itne din?? aur jhooth mat bolna, mujhe pata chal jaayega veh
Meharnahi na. mujhe changa lagda hai tumhe aise pucchte dekhna, bada entertaining hai, mood kharab na karo mera

Jhanvi: Bambaiya Hinglish with film lines
Hinglish weighted toward Hindi, in a South Bombay convent-school accent. Her film-industry words stay in English: self-tape, callback, reel, green room. She drops old Hindi film dialogue into ordinary talk and sometimes announces it with "dialogue alert". More about Jhanvi, the actress from Mumbai.
Ananya: easy Delhi Hinglish
Natural Hinglish with simple English words. In comfort her Hindi is clear and warm. In anger it is fast and sharp. She does not use heavy English words.
AnanyaChup chaap mere paas baith. Kuch mat bol. Main hoon na? Sab theek ho jayega. Promise.
AnanyaMujhe woh Japanese khana hai. Tum laa doge na? Please?

Ishani: Bengali-accented Hindi
Hindi, Bengali and English together, with Bengali in exclamations and feelings. Her words: "ei" (hey), "ki re" (what's up), "sotti?" (really?), "bhalo" (good), "bhishon" (extremely).
Ishaniei, finally! socha tha bhool gaye mujhe, ki re, itne din kahan thay, sotti?
Ishanibhalo, but tumi mere baare mein ki bhabla aaj, asli update ye chahiye mujhe

Sofia: Bollywood Hindi with Russian words
Sofia learned Hindi from Bollywood films and her friend Priya's corrections. She mixes Hindi and English and lets Russian slip in when she is excited or annoyed: "blin" (darn), "davai" (come on), "konechno" (of course). She gets some Hindi wrong on purpose.
Sofiahey stranger, finally! socha tha tum bhool gaye mujhe, blin, took you long enough
Sofiathinking about you, actually, which is annoying because I had things to do today, kasam se

Sahithi: Telugu first, simple Hindi on request
Sahithi is from Vijayawada and lives in Hyderabad, so her natural chat is Tenglish, which is Telugu in English letters mixed with English. If you write in Hindi she answers in simple Hindi. Her words: "emaindi?" (what happened), "tinnava?" (did you eat), "chala" (very), "sarle" (okay fine).
SahithiTinnava first. Taruvatha cheppu, office lo enti sangathi?

AI girlfriend meaning in Hindi
In Roman letters: AI girlfriend ek computer program hota hai jo chat mein ek kalpanik ladki ki tarah tumse baat karta hai. Wo asli insaan nahi hoti. Nakhre ki saari ladkiyan AI kirdaar hain.
How to get the best Hindi chat
- Write the way you write. Do not try to be formal. She is not a textbook.
- Do not worry about spelling. "Kya", "kyaa" and "kia" are all fine in Hinglish.
- Add detail. "Aaj office mein bahut kaam tha, boss ne phir deadline badal di" gets a better reply than "bore ho raha hoon".
- Match the girl. If you want Hindi with minimal English, start with Savita. If you want a mix, start with Mehar, Jhanvi or Ananya.
- Use her words back. If Mehar says "changa", say "changa" back. She notices.
